GRIDCORE, (GRID COgnitive REhabilitation) is a project co-financed by the Ministry of Health and the Lazio Region. Started on February 2013, its primary goal is to evaluate the effectiveness of new rehabilitation therapies applied on patients affected by Parkinson’s Disease, Mild Cognitive Impairment and Alzheimer’s Disease.
Throughout the GRIDCORE project, Software Engineering Italia has developed several tasks executing on 10-inch Android tablets for the cognitive assessment of elderly patients with mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer’s Disease and in patients with Parkinson’s Disease.
These tasks have been derived from the company’s current products and knowledge, with the goal to enable the evaluation and validation of the performances of a new and innovative approach to rehabilitation of the previously mentioned patients. The rehabilitation tasks of Swing:It are currently used in hospitals, specialised research centres, and IRCCS in different parts of Italy. After the end of GRIDCORE the application developed has been adopted by a group of scientific research projects in the field.
